Shell's (RDS.A) stricken Kulluk rig anchored for the last month in a bay off Kodiak Island is not subject to an Alaska oil and gas property tax, a state official says. How come when an Alaskan fishing boat or crabbing boat goes down in a storm, many times with the loss of life, due mostly to greedy captains failure to properly consider the dangerous weather, no one screams and hollers about the environment being abused and damaged unnecessarily?
