AMD's (AMD +3.2%) SeaMicro unit has nabbed Livestream as a customer. The live events hosting site has deployed SeaMicro's ultra-dense SM15000 server platform to handle video transcoding and collaboration services, and touts the platform's space and power savings. The SM15000, also supported by Rackspace, was built with the needs of Internet companies doing hyperscale deployments in mind. (PR)

Confirmation that AMD puts out a PR about their success to sell Xeon-based servers:

"After rigorous testing and evaluation, Livestream selected the SeaMicro SM15000 high density server because it was optimized for Internet applications, reduced power consumption by 50 percent and provided the computing power to transcode live video. The SM15000-XN provides 64 Intel® Xeon® (“Ivy Bridge”) servers in 10 RU. "

Notice how AMD's PR is very careful not to mention the CPU that Livestream is purchasing? Is it Opteron or Xeon? I am guessing Xeon.
