Valspar (VAL -7.9%) takes a hit after its FQ1 missed analysts estimates this morning. Net earnings slipped a surprise 1.3% Y/Y on flat revenue out of its its key coatings segment and a decline in paint revenue. The paint and coatings maker lowered earnings estimates for the year as well, citing weak demand in its key international markets. It now expects to earn $3.60 to $3.80 versus previous estimates for $3.65 to $3.85 a share.
