The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOXX) is down 15% since the end of April, compared with a 4% drop for the Dow and NASDAQ. Factors pressuring chip stocks include economic weakness, sluggish PC demand, and high customer inventories. INTC, ALTR, XLNX, SNDK, and QCOM are some of the big chip names reporting this week.
