Carnival (CCL) may face a large number of lawsuits because the crippled cruise ship which dominated the news cycle over the last few days had a litany of mechanical problems in its history. Though the growth of the travel industry isn't expected to be damaged by the high-profile incident, Carnival has already lopped off $0.08 to $0.10 to H1 earnings due to the mishap, an estimate which could move even higher as legal headaches mount. CCL -0.5% premarket, down around 5% post-Triumph stranding.
