After rallying yesterday in the face of Jim Balsillie's disclosure, BlackBerry (BBRY -4.3%) is lower again today. A possible culprit: Detwiler Fentor reports Samsung (SSNLF.PK) plans to unveil an "enterprise platform" at the Feb. 25-28 Mobile World Congress. However, Samsung's SAFE initiative, which provides enterprise security/management tools for its mobile hardware, is already well-known. As is the fact BlackBerry faces competition on the device management software front from Good Technology, SAP, Citrix, and others.

  • South Korea is turning out to be exactly like Japan 30 years ago. Remember when Nippon Steel was the #1 steelmaker in the world. Now, (PKX) and (MT) having been vying for #1 while Nippon has fallen to #3.

Samsung is starting to look like Sharp.

  • LOL...that's hilarious. Samsung's Enterprise Platform would be as glitchy as their phones. Competition with BBRY in the enterprise realm isn't even a possibility.

  • Agree with Charles -- why would businesses want anything running on malware ridden Andriod? I see BBZ10 with its secure, stable underlying os as simply the best in class right now.

  • I love listening to business analcyst cover technology, they're either good for a laugh or pathetically trying manipulate the stock.

Does anyone else find the idea of Android in the enterprise laughable?

  • bbry shares will drift on lack of positive news I anticipate uptick as mid march and earliest US release and then in anticipation of Quarterly report month end. bigger rise will be towards May June as full roll out continues. and again in anticipation of quarterly results following this. imo
