Phillips (PHG) is now offering a 75-watt-equivalent LED bulb for $39.97 - proof of both how far LED lighting has come, and how much work LED chipmakers such as Cree (CREE) and SemiLEDs (LEDS) still have ahead of them in making LED lighting truly price-competitive with incandescent and fluorescent bulbs in the consumer market (earlier).
