VeriFone (PAY) -23.6% AH after warning it expects FQ1 (Jan. quarter) revenue of $425M-$430M and EPS of $0.47-$0.50, below a consensus of $492.5M and $0.73. FQ2 guidance is for revenue of $435M-$450M and EPS of $0.45-$0.50, below a consensus of $514.2M and $0.80. The company blames European macro, lost revenue opportunities thanks to investments in services at the expense of hardware/software, higher deferred revenue, weak Brazilian/Venezuelan sales, and several project delays. Is Square also a culprit? Restructuring efforts are promised.

I'd have to agree that Square/AAPL are also culprits. I'm seeing more iPads as POS systems in stores.
