Heard on Wal-Mart's (WMT) earnings call: 1) Execs call the performance during the holiday season "solid" as they cite the market share gains the company made against rivals in the U.S. despite the soft comparable-store sales. 2) Wal-Mart says it will up its square footage by 36M-40M this fiscal year, compared to 34.6M last year. 3) The company say it slowed new store growth in the emerging markets to be more strategic and deliberate in the development process.
