Canalys estimates shipments of phones running Google's (GOOG) Android grew 379% Y/Y in Q2, and now account for roughly 48% of all global smartphone shipments. Research in Motion's (RIMM) North American share fell to 12% from 33% in Q2 2010, but the company remained #1 in Latin America with a 28% share.

    Canalys has a pretty poor track record. Better to pull numbers out of a hat.
