Heard on Dollar Tree's (DLTR +10.5%) earnings call: 1) A bit of forward-looking housekeeping as execs warn that the 6 fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas means the period could see a $25M shortfall. 2) Expansion is still in the mix with 340 new stores and 75 relocations slated for this year. Square footage growth of 7.3% is forecast. 3) A bit of wordsmithing, but the company calling consumers "burdened and concerned" sounds worse than the stock retail adjective of "cautious." 4) No plans for tobacco.
