  • So true, Ashraf.

Personally, I think the vast majority of public companies are absolute crap businesses. So few truly worthy of investing - and not speculating - in.

  • agree, coupons is not a real business. however, groupon's direct sales are, and they are up quite sharply, so there's hope yet. a pretty good graph that illustrates this:

  • if you've been listening to WMT, TGT and some of the other retailers... even DLTR commentary... it's obvious that 2013 has started out rocky might be time to start buying some protection/risk off trade...

  • Purchased GRPN at $2.7 sold over half for a 100% gain, I believe the time and purchased prices are key to an investors profits.

The high level number don't look too bad. They have plenty of cash to attempt to shape up multiple times, if necessary. Being a publicly traded company too early has its pros/cons.

My comment saying to "backup the truck and load up on GRPN at 2.7" is still partially valid:

  • In the year I have had Groupon I have used it twice. All the deals are pretty obscure things you would never buy for the most part.
