Nokia's (NOK +1.7%) 20-F is out, and investors are reacting positively. A possible reason: the company reiterated its growth and margin guidance for Devices & Services. Nokia also says its balance of payments with Microsoft (previous) will be favorable to the company this year, though it expects the balance to be favorable to Microsoft by ~$650M over the remainder of their deal. Stephen Elop earned €4.3M in 2012, down from €7.9M in 2011.

    They target long-term 10% or more operating margin in Devices & Services. They also target long-term D&S net sales to grow faster than the market.

    Balance on payments to MSFT being positive to Nokia for the year is not a positive sign for sales of Lumia's.

    @scavok Agreed, superficially. Do we know what the royalty payment is for WP8 on Lumias though.

    I disagree with that scavok - it indicates nothing but the outcome of negotiations between MSFT and NOK. what IS interesting however is that they were forecasting the BoP to be net neutral as recently as January.. now they're forecasting it to be net negative for Nokia.. this indicates they're raising their internal forecasts, probably on the strength of stronger than expected Lumia sales.

    Last quarters super surprise positive isn't going to change. Windows phone will steadily gain traction and respect along with notoriety. The static tiles were first but the live tiles of metro are the future.

    It's funny how we all know what "I love La Rue's red 920 and long Nokia" means.

    To bad we don't have 'signature lines' on seeking alpha, I would make this my signature for at least a while.

    Tiny market share in smartphones means Elop is overpaid.

    Elop lost 50% of its wages in 2012, with no bonus.

    So when he is saying "we are operating exactly according to the plan", I think this is not really true (otherwise he would have met his performance targets and gotten his bonus).

    @eld Good point.

    He did not get the bonus(es) as they were tied to the share price, a bonus for 9 EUR, and additional bonus for 17 EUR price. So he was not even close:

    The good news is that he seemingly did not miss some internal milestone target(s) related to actual Nokia operations.

    Don't worry DVL, Elop didn't get a cash bonus either.

    I see Nokia Shares price rising for at least 4 weeks. Do not take Profits. Just wait.
