President Obama's statement calling for Syria's Assad to leave power. "His calls for dialogue and reform have rung hollow while he is imprisoning, torturing, and slaughtering his own people ... the time has come for President Assad to step aside."

    Reuters reports that "experts confirm Assad is seeking asylum in Libya now that Kadaffi is off the radar screen.

    ..."His calls for dialogue and reform have rung hollow while he is imprisoning, torturing, and slaughtering his own people..."????...well, if you think about it, almost the same could be said for Obama...although in his case, the "imprisoning, torturing, and slaughtering" is psychological and fiscal...

    I think the timing is interesting. With rebels in Zawiya, and Gaddafi now surrounded, it's time to see who is next to go. Before this, the President couldn't say that.

    Assad's earlier comments were misinterpreted. He said he was a transformer, not reformer. But then who said reform had to be positive change anyway? Assad has transformed his country into a shooting gallery for homicidal government troops.
