Chairman Sir Howard Stringer says he'll retire from Sony (SNE) at its meeting in June, to pursue "new opportunities I've been presented with lately." Stringer dropped the news at a lecture delivered to the Japan Society.

    As a shareholder they need leadership and direction; this could be very good. Stock price is high. Do something good with this board!

    Sir Stringer read at Merton College, Oxford; he would have been a better manager had he gone to Balliol College, Oxford, its chief rival college and a much better one! LOL!
