Bullish notes from Goldman's Simona Jankowski and Jefferies' Peter Misek didn't stop BlackBerry...

Bullish notes from Goldman's Simona Jankowski and Jefferies' Peter Misek didn't stop BlackBerry (BBRY -3.8%) from giving back some of yesterday's gains. Jankowski sees 2M-3M BB10 shipments apiece for the May-November quarters, and says Z10 checks at nearly 40 stores in 4 countries indicate "most stores had a successful launch week, followed by steady demand." Misek says his checks indicate build orders have been raised 3 times in 6 weeks, and speculates the 1M-unit order likely came from a U.S. carrier or a top distributor (Ingram Micro/Brightstar).

May 28 is D day for this stock. I am especially interested whether BlackBerry provides guidance.

BBRY is giving guidance premarket on the 28th. To me, that means its good news. And the stock will soar from it.

Usually companies gives guidance or such when the markets are closed so they can minimize any dramatic fluctuation in the stock price while they are speaking. They don't want investors to drive down the stock because the beginning of their speech was not as bullish as hoped, but have the stock soar at the end of the speech when the bullish part was finally announced.

So no, giving guidance in the premarket is not a sign of good or bad news. If they are not scheduled to say anything on March 28th and they say they plan to report something, then that could be inferred as potentially good news, because why would they report bad news if they don't have to report anything at all.

BlackBerry has stopped giving guidance due to the uncertainty they were facing transitioning from BB7 to BB10. Lets see if they start again, if they do it will be positive.

Im long BBRY. From all the news we see trickeling out...Should be eventful and for all the right reasons. Look for some surprises like announcements of more software companies joining w/BBRY. They have an ace in the whole with the automotive applications. 0

And you shorts guys. Just keep on shorting. I also noticed that some of the usual Samsung lovers actually say the new version won't be that much of a difference from what they get now.

Doesn't matter. Old phones need to be updated, and (BBRY) loyalists won't switch. Question is will they gain market share. I think yes, but it might be small.
