Market preview: With no rabbits expected to be pulled from Bernanke's hat, S&P futures -0.8% and following Europe lower. At 10 a.m., Bernanke will at long last deliver his Jackson Hole speech, and investors can get back to focusing on fundamentals - which aren't too hot, as evidenced by the reduced estimate for Q2 GDP growth. Also ahead: consumer sentiment.

    Dear Ed:
In the "economic calendar" at the start of the day you show the speech as taking place at 1 p.m.; presumably you are talking both in EST. Which time is it, 10 or 1?

It is 10 AM EST as far as I am concerned and from what I have read elsewhere, but then again, it would seem more appropriate at 1pm.

I think the embargo is lifted on the speech text at 10:00. Not sure what time he actually delivers it.

    Perhaps QE3 at 10, and QE4 at 1? ;-)
