Gas prices in the U.S. are surging as Labor Day weekend approaches, with the national average now $3.629/gallon, more than any other Labor Day except 2008. Americans actually are using less gas, but drivers in developing nations are using more, pushing fuel prices higher around the world.

Just imagine how many direct and indirect jobs we could create if we could just drill for own oil and natural gas and increase our coal prodution?

Just look at the Bakken Shale - it is the answer in a microcosm. California is what this country will look like if we continue on our current path.

We can protect the environment without restricting oil development even if you believe in the chimera of fossil fuels causing global warming. The EPA is not synonymous with a clean environment - somewhere the notion of doing what is best for humans was subsumed by the radicals. Give them credit for being smarter than anyone else and knowing how to work the system from within and under the cover of darkness.

FYI, I am not against clean water and air, Nancy Pelosi. You can have clean water and air and oil production (by the way, Nancy natural gas is a fossil fuel).

Who's gonna be more sensitive and protective of the environment, the US or the Chinese, Russians, Cubans, Brazilians or anyone else that we would be buying this oil from?

Not to be missed is the fact that it would improve our national security by strengthening our balance of payments, increasing our standard of living, and weakening our petro enemies (Iran most prominent of course).

Feels good to rant. Let's hope we get some solutions.

The "chimera," as you delicately put it, is nothing less than a massive orchestrated fraud to forward the left's never-ending collectivization urges by denying the masses available and affordable energy and the freedoms it engenders. It's all about power and control, and nothing else.

The "green" movement is like a watermelon - green on the outside and red on the inside (not sure who said it. maybe Vaclav Klaus). After the end of the Cold War, all those displaced communists needed an initiative to focus their energies and Global Warming fit the bill.

Delicate is not a word often associated with me but I am trying to get in touch with my feminine side :)

The administration's obsession with lowering the value of our dollar has resulted in this metoric rise in all commodities--oil, coffee and prices at the pump---no country has ever DEVALUED THEIR CURRENCY TO PROSPERITY
