The next market downturn will be slow and one big company after another, instead of a broad swoop down.

And, an excuse will be made for each company that it was company specific, they have it covered, and it was "this and that".

Ellison spending too much money on his toy collection. Perhaps Hurd isn't the golden boy after all.

I've always been interested to see how Oracle performs from a stock stand point. I'm an IT developer and frankly, from a product perspective, I've never been overly impressed with Oracle's software offerings. There development platform is one of the single worst software products I've ever used and while their database is pretty much the standard of the industry, there are other choices out there that are just as good if not better and MUCH more cost effective. Oracle is famous for running their customers over the hot coals regarding software licensing.

Obviously Oracle is a big company that makes a lot of money. But sometimes when you look at them from the bottom up, you have to wonder why?
