The Senate yesterday easily passed a bill to fund the government until the end of September, thereby forestalling any fears of a government shutdown. The package includes $85B of sequestration but gives the Pentagon more leeway to decide on where to cut spending. The bill is due to go to the House for a vote today, when it's expected to be approved.
