M&T Bank (MTB) looks to benefit as Bank of America (BAC) shutters its mortgage-servicing operation in Western New York, not only growing its own servicing business, but taking over the lease for BofA's 132K square foot facility, and maybe hiring most if not all of the employees scheduled to be let go.

I wonder what has MTB got to do with BAC? Anyone care to enlighten me, please? Too lazy to read up or research on MTB. Thanks.

Nothing - The Western NY mortgage servicing operation was always the most efficient servicer in the BAC system. I guess BAC is giving up on mortgage servicing and they don't need this operation. MTB knows it is getting a well educated, good quality servicing staff. Goof move for them and good for Buffalo.
