Wal-Mart (WMT -0.3%) will test using lockers inside of its stores to hold items for goods ordered online by customers, according to the retailer's top e-commerce exec. The in-store lockers initiative isn't brand new, Amazon is in the middle of testing the concept in select Staples and RadioShack stores.

And this is supposed to be accretive to shareholder value? I wonder what the logic is. They must think that by having lockers, it will spur more online sales? I will have to think about that. If I ordered something online and had it shipped to a store instead of my home, I wouldn't care if I had to go to customer service to pick it up or if I had to go to a locker. The locker raises more questions. Do they mail me a key or the combination?

Or, do I still have to go to customer service to get the key, then go to the locker. That wouldn't make much sense.
