Google Wallet is officially launched, as Sprint (S) announces it's offering the wireless payments service via Samsung's Nexus S 4G phone. The first participating retailers include American Eagle, Macy's, and Subway. If Google (GOOG) can turn its early lead in NFC payments into long-term dominance, the payoff could be huge. But competition abounds.

This is an awesome move for any company and after following the step that Google has taken and has announced to the world, its very promising for the company...its got its hands in every major pocket worth picking. Who knows maybe in the not so near future it will become a new monetary system. I was talking to one of my friends about how Apple has integrated everything in its ecosystem and it works out so smoothly...I was also telling him about Google doing the same thing but in a bigger scale...in a social everyday scale. And this is it, I'm glad someone else sees it, it quite obvious at this time. As an investor I would "Bet on Larry Page". No offense Eric Schmidt, you had your chance.
