A deal with South African solar manufacturer Solairedirect is helping ReneSola (SOL +3.2%) tick higher.  Solairedirect's manufacturing subsidiary has agreed to make 120MW worth of ReneSola-branded solar modules over 3 years, with its parent company having committed to to buying 54MW of them for solar projects. ReneSola adds Solairedirect could make additional modules if it chooses to expand its production capacity. (PR)

The energy policy is a very political matter. South Africans have understood the importance of solar energy for the strengthening of their energy independence. A cooperation between a Chinese manufacturer and a South African company, between the BRICS countries, is good news for the climate and for the solar business.
