Cowen's Sam Margolin notes gasoline margins have fallen 35% since March 8, which may keep refiner stocks volatile near-term, but he likes the medium-term picture as prices stabilize. Top drivers of refining stock performance over the past two years - accelerated return of cash, monetization of secondary assets, feedstock cost advantages vs. competing global refineries - remain in place for the coming year.

NTI says minimally. Also VLO said something like that.

The refiners will be in great shape medium turn because the Brent-WTI spread will not disappear and there will be a short coming of transport for several years from Bakken etc. Refiners that can make use of this should be in great shape which includes $NTI and $ALDW.

I certainly hope so. The noise about the new EPA rules were bad enough, so between that news and the other refinery news, my shares in NTI, HFC, and PSX took a BIG hit, but it made for a buying opportunity in those stocks.

I'd like to see the prices recover some before the summer blends start to go in production , if they haven't started already.

Isn't it amazing how some people hear the least little piece of news coming down the wire , don't quite get whats being said, or don't put it in prospective , and create a massive sell-off of a sector thats been hotter than hot.

    2017 is 4 f*#%kin years off.
