"This is a market where even an idiot can win," says the head of a stock-study seminar in Tokyo. One of his students is a believer after banking coin by taking money saved to attend fashion school in the U.K. and instead buying shares. "It's starting to feel like the old days," says a 70-year old retiree after booking a 2-day 12% gain in Hitachi.

Agree. I know we all had to start investing at sometime, but if there are a lot of others like that student who only started when everything was going up up up and quickly, what will they do when the market suddenly changes direction.

    Japanese equities are WILDLY undervalued.

This for them is like 1982 for Americans.

The currency value is dead, the bonds are about to fall off of a cliff and the stock market will rise for many years.

    Hi,
The term 'banking coin' means he made a lot of money. So, the above expression would imply that the student bought shares with money that was being saved for school.
