Questions have been raised about China's trade data, especially with exports to Hong Kong rising by what researcher IHS says is an "astounding" 92.9%. "There is plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that exporters are faking orders," IHS says, and using certain practices to obtain export-tax rebates. Chinese authorities have been investigating the situation.
