With Akamai (AKAM) stung in recent months by competition and intense price pressure in its content delivery business, Dan Rayburn thinks the company needs to evolve. In particular, he believes Akamai needs to more quickly roll out new products, explain its roadmap to customers, and consider acquiring smaller rivals with compelling technology.

    Sounds like a company that has lost its creative ways.

     

    My guess is the "cockroach" theory evolves .... it's never ONE bad quarter. There's typically a string of uneven quarters before the issues get turned around.

     

    Do they have the culture to successfully acquire / happily integrate new concepts into the fold without disrupting current employees / operations?
