The Daily, an iPad-only (AAPL) newspaper launched by News Corp. (NWS, NWSA), is off to a slow start, seven months after launching, The Daily has only 80K paid subscribers, well below the 500K Rupert Murdoch said were needed for a viable business. The New York Times (NYT), meanwhile, has only 26.9K iPad-only subs out of a total iPad reader base of 135.6K.
