Goldman Sachs (GS) increased the annual salary package of CEO Lloyd Blankfein by 75% to $21M for 2012, making him the world's best-paid bank chief. Blankfein should write a check to Ben Bernanke or would it come later when Ben joins as Partner and Vice Chairman.

I would suggest that this is fair compensation for an executive who directs the actions of the central bankers. At 21M, he's paid the salary of a franchise quarterback.

@The Geoffster - Well said, considering that municipalities nowadays subsidize the NFL with stadium concessions in the same way the Fed subsidizes GS with the 'full faith and credit' of the USA behind it. What an effed up world we live in.

Perhaps those secret meetings, like the one in Moscow with the Secretary of the Treasury, are finally paying off.

How much gold is Goldman Sachs buying now that they have helped push the price lower?
How many more "sell" calls will they issue while they are buying the stock they are telling the muppets to sell? (NOK was rated a sell by GS while GS bought over 60M shares of NOK)

Congratulations Mr. Blankfein. You are the best of the best of Wall Street and you paycheck tells you so.

You realize that the sell-side is out to generate trading revenue, right?
