AMC Networks (AMCX -1.9%) expands into no-man's land with a planned shift to a Saturday time slot for its AMC show Boot Hill. Typically, the day is the destination of scrapped shows, but at this year's TV industry "upfront" meetings it's becoming clear that cable networks are willing to gamble as competitions increases. The big question to be answered this week is if upfront ad sales see any impact from the onslaught of streaming options for consumers.

"AMC executives say they are enthusiastic about this move"

Well what are they going to say, "we're desperate, we'll try anything"?

I've long argued that AMC has two hit shows left (MM & TWD) and the reaction to this, in the face of high debt and shareholder unfriendly management has been terrifically overblown.
