The recent drop in Akamai (AKAM) shares makes it a more attractive takeover target, Bloomberg speculates, suggesting IBM and Verizon (VZ) as rivals that could take a look. Akamai has plunged 57% in the past year, pushing its market cap from $9.9B to ~$3.8B, and is valued at 7.6x EBITDA, almost two-thirds less than a year ago. AKAM +1.6% premarket.
