McDonald's (MCD) is getting some push-back from franchisees over the company's increased promotional stance. The concern of the group is that the value message has been worn out with rivals Burger King and Wendy's stepping up their discounting game. The main franchisee beef: "We need ‘new’ news – not just cheap food."

Continuing with the McDonald's Dollar Menu and then piling on additional discount offers is breaking down the entire McDonald's business model. The point of operating a McDonald's is to make a profit, not just build top line sales for McDonald's shareholders.

How about more services? Order online and home deliveries would go down well. Pizza places do it, MCD can, likewise. MCD does that in Hong Kong.

I agree, MCD has the product, get a fair price so everybody makes money, Sales would not be affected with say $1.25 menu, and 3 for $3.50 meal deal
