Berg Insight estimates mobile app downloads will grow at a 56.6% annual rate from 2010 to 2015, to 98B. It sees mobile app store revenue growing a 40.7% annual clip over this time, reaching $11.8B. Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) will both benefit from this growth, though Apple is likely to gain more, given the greater tendency of iOS users to pay for apps. (also)

  • Apple probably benefits more than Google, if Google's policy of splitting Android Market application revenue 70/30 between the developer and carrier is still practiced.

  • Greater tendency equals 20 to 30 TIMES more likely! This is because Apple users know their Apps are not full of spyware and because the users are not posers buying imitation product, in this case, Android.
