More analysis on the rumored PepsiCo (PEP) - Mondelez International (MDLZ -0.8%) combination (previous): JPMorgan's John Faucher is a major skeptic that PepsiCo will be willing to merge Frito-Lay with Mondelez even with activist investors on the scene. The analyst notes a tax-advantaged Reverse Morris Trust transaction is unlikely due to the size of the potential deal while an outright buy of MDLZ would be too pricey.

Well, after being an active investor for many years I have learned
    why analyst starts with anal.
These guys get paid big bucks to change their mind, and affect our
    lives, every day.
I would rather trust my gut than any analyst.
I hope PEP does something with this deal, but if not, the worst can
happen is they are still PEP, and my family has made good money
with them for 3 generations since my grandfather blew his life savings
on Frito. What a smart man, and he was a grocer, not an analyst.

Couldn't agree more. Most analysts are salesmen and in the business to make money. Brokers are no different.

I totally agree. As a MDLZ holder, I see it as a perfect complement to the Frito-Lay operation. Should the deal be consummated, I think Pepsi would be wise to keep the MDLZ CEO on. Not only is she a smart cookie, but it is my understanding that she worked for Pepsi before signing on as the CEO of Kraft.

I am not an analyst; therefore I am honest. I think MDLZ goes to 40. Why? Ms. Rosenberg is a smart cookie (Oreo).

All she has to do is get the 3rd World ADDICTED to sugar, salt, and fat. Easy. Give the people what they want. A miserable life is made better by cookies, chewing gum, candy, and coffee.
