According to IHS, global chip inventories reached 83.1 days in Q2, a level not seen since the beginning of the industry's last downturn, in early 2008. Though preliminary estimates indicates a 2% Q3 decline, IHS thinks its data suggests an industry correction is likely over the next few quarters. Many chipmakers (I, II, III, IV, V) have warned about Q3 results. (Gartner)
