A class action suit has been filed in Utah against Zions Bank (ZION) for excessive overdraft fees. Calling the practice "patently unconscionable and unfair," court papers say the bank's policies allowed it to manipulate and alter the order in which debit transactions were posted in order to maximize the number of overdrafts, and increase the fees collected from customers.

    bac , chase , citi ......all do this . they take the largest debit first to wipe out your available balance first then the fun begins.


    the new rules stop this practice.
