H-P (HPQ) is reconsidering its plan to spin off or sell its PC arm, as new studies show that the costs could outweigh the benefits, the WSJ reports. E.g., any move could weaken H-P's buying power with component makers, complicate its supply chain, and decrease margins on products such as servers.

I often think HP might get better (or at least as good as) results on corporate decisions by just flipping a coin and having someone on the board or whoever the latest lame CEO is to call "heads" or "tails" while it's in the air. "Heads" we spin it off; "tails" we keep it. Or, perhaps that is already what they're doing.

Very glad to *not* be long HPQ.
