The National Transportation Safety Board starts a two-day hearing over the burn-out of the battery system on two Boeing (BA) 787 jets. The NTSB wants to investigate beyond what caused the incidents to the lessons that can be learned for the airplane certification process and new technologies. Boeing chief engineer Mike Sinnett says the only time they could "make a cell vent with fire was with significant overcharging."
