The FBI is probing a $687M advisory fee that Olympus (OCPNY.PK) paid during its $2B takeover of U.K. firm Gyrus Group in 2008, the NYT reports. The payout has caused a storm after Olympus ousted CEO Michael Woodford on Oct. 14, because, he said, he planned to expose the charge. Shares have plunged 56% since then.
