Dell (DELL) has passed H-P (HPQ) and IBM as the largest provider of servers running Intel (INTC) and AMD x86 chips in North America, and the company wants to keep up its momentum through its vStart platform, which offers a soup-to-nuts virtualization solution for data centers. With PC sales nearly flat, Dell is going all-out to boost its data center revenues.
