More on the rebound in Consumer Confidence: Respondents are considerably more upbeat about the future than the present. The Present Situation Index ticked up to 60.4 from 59.2, but the Expectations Index skied to 73.3 from 63.7. Those expecting more jobs rose to 14.2% from 13%, while those expecting fewer fell to 22.4% from 26%. (full report)
