More on AvalonBay Communities (AVB): Q3 earnings come in mixed, beating on its revenue figure buy missing on FFO estimates due to declining occupancy rates. Profits jumped 82% Y/Y however, as higher rents offset much of the decline. The company cuts its FY11 FFO forecast to a range of $4.57 - $4.61 per share, and its earnings to between $1.84 - $1.88. Analysts were expecting $1.89.

    ?????? All I've been reading about in the past months is people renting rather than buying. Is there a problem with AVB's properties?
