The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index rises to -28.9 from -29.9 previously, the third highest read since January 2008. It's the third straight week in the negative 20s - no small feat considering the index spent more than 3 years at -30 or lower. Thirty-four percent of respondents say now is a good time ti buy things they want and need, up 5% in 5 weeks and the most since November 2007 - just before the recession began.
