AGNC basically earned $0.78 in spread income and $0.40 in drop income, so total core of $1.18/share - more of a comparison to the estimate of $1.08. All the other stuff was mark to market noise.

And I doubt the dividend will be affected. Could be a great buying opportunity tomorrow morning.

That noise is what a lot of us make money on, market slaughters the stock price, those who know will buy up the stock and hold until the markets either returns the stock to par value or higher. My orders are already in for the morning's expected drop.

CIO couldn't have been more clear in his comments that they are going to float new shares, it's a matter of when not if imo.

I think book has recovered significantly since 3/31 though, not sure where they stood at 4/30...hope someone asks that question on the CC. They could float another preferred series instead of more common.

This report is, unfortunately, not good. Can't spin it any other way. Long AGNC

Is this what I've been waiting for? 29 looks like an entry for me; no, I'll wait for the next offering around 28.50.

Some folks don't do math very well. Fifty cents on $30 is 1.7% Not important to a stock paying 15% annually. If you're looking for growth, fugetabowdit. AGNC is for income.

Yes, but do you think they can maintain the current dividend given this earnings report?

Yes the divy should be sustainable through year end as AGNC had a fat cushion coming into this earnings period.
