  • any thoughts on this? they still made $.64/share before the,

"$(2.21) other comprehensive income (loss) ("OCI") per common share "

and then if that "Includes net unrealized losses on investments
    marked-to-market through OCI"

Should that effect the dividend payout?

thanks in advance to you smart folk

  • Long AGNC and very disappointed. When was the last time BV dropped?
    2 May 2013, 09:14 PM Reply Like
  • Literally the previous quarter. BV reported as $32.49 at 9/30/2012, $31.64 as of 12/31/2012, $28.93 as of 3/31/2013.

  • AGNC has made me money but I have had to trade it instead of buy and hold it as I and most would prefer. I prefer to buy below book value but as Mike Maher pointed out, it has been decreasing consecutively. Taken alone, Q4 to Q1 book value dropped $2.71. OUCH!!!! Gary Kain has emerged as the guru of the mREIT sector but he does have some explaining to do in the conference call.

I may buy tomorrow if the dip is irrationally severe.

  • My understanding is they must pay the 2012 dividends by Sept '13 and they were up in Q3 & 4 last year. Plus it was thought they would pay above the 90% required payout to avoid their own taxation. I like to buy more here.

  • retired researcher/inventor,and pro-athlete! Been taking a much more active role in investment management. Don't remember a bad 1/4 for AGNC in the last 3 years. I would say the resent news and value dip would be a buying opportunity, would give one chance for growth and dividends ! Cooler heads usually prevail !

  • I agree, this provides a great buying opportunity. If stock falls below $30 grab it while you can.
