This was the fork in the road, .....the decsision that would make or break us... massive inflation is coming in the form of a tsunami... first the deflation with tide going out, ....then the massive wall of water (hyper-inflation) that will destroy us...

The investors that have been financing our party are going to start pulling out...

and as if we don't have enough to be concerned about, the Israelis are probably going to do their thing before Obama takes the helm...

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always had.....

We are such slow learners with bad memories...

    god help us

What was the alternative to this? Let Citi go under? There would be no buyers large enough to digest Citi, and if retail deposits aren't safe with Citi, they're not safe anywhere.

If Citi needs this bailout, then were all the income statements and balance sheets issued over the past 5 years incorrect? Isn't there some liability among senior management, former and current, for issuing financial statements that are deceptive? Some might even call it fraud. I don't hear a word from the boys about this ....all I hear is how we need to save folks from this mess and by the way, allow allow the people who made the mess and fortunes at the same time, keep them.

One day taxpayers will wake up and realize the extent of this great train robbery.

I believe in Capitalism. I also believe we must save Citi and GM and Ford and Chrysler and others and should have save Lehman and WaMu. We can't bite our nose off just to spite our face.

The promise of President elect Obama and his Economic team excite me. Being a bit of a dreamer I see the headlines of this fiasco reading. And out of the ashes rose............
