    Beijing appears to be blocking access to Google's (GOOG) unfiltered Hong Kong search site. Other signs of escalation today include China Unicom (CHU) killing an upcoming Android smartphone, while China Mobile (CHL) is expected to back out of a deal that would have put Google search on its home page.   • None of this should come as a surprise.

    In the U.S. (and the West), making a buck is God Almighty, but, while China is happy to promote prosperity, in a battle of ultimatums, ideology rules the day.

  • I'm not sure what is being blocked, but i heard the govt is blocking what it wanted google, yahoo to do originally.

    I'm wondering when google.com will be restored, rather than google.hk, but still that service is better than say facebook, youtube, twitter, hulu, abc, nbc, cbs, foxtv where there is no access to the services
