    Wal-Mart's (WMT) offer of free shipping for 60,000 items online with no minimum purchase pits it directly against Amazon.com (AMZN), which requires a $25 spend for gratis delivery. All retailers, online or otherwise, are fighting for fewer dollars, so expect the competition to intensify, and outlive the holiday season.

    As I thought, I read this article this morning at 6 am central on CNBC. In a related note. I don't ever remember seeing so many bare shelves at the local Walmart as I have in the last 2 months or so. What's up? Poor local management or something else.
