The price of ARRS stock soared and touched a new lifetime high in after-hours trading Wednesday as the company said that it will acquire Pace plc., a leading provider of technology solutions to the PayTV and Broadband industries, for $2.1 billion in cash and stock.

The deal accelerates ARRS' growth strategy and is expected to be accretive to its Non-GAAP earnings per share in the first 12 months following the acquisition, which is projected to close in late 2015 after the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

According to ARRS, this transaction will provide it with a large scale entry into the satellite segment, broaden its portfolio and expand its global presence, representing another example of its ongoing strategy of investing in the right opportunities to position the company for growth

Shares of EBAY surged to near all-time high levels in extended trade on Wednesday after the company delivered better-than-expected quarterly profit in its financial results, driven by transaction growth and expense control.
